Maurício Magalhães Costa

Full Member and 1st Secretary of the National Academy of Medicine. Graduated in Medicine from the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (1981), Equivalence of Degree in Medicine from the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Lisbon (2008) and Title of Specialist in Gynecology and Obstetrics awarded by the National Executive Council of the Portuguese Medical Association on November 13, 2015, Medical Residency in Gynecology and Obstetrics, UFRJ (1985), Specialization in Gynecological Oncology, Karolinska Institute, Sweden (1983-1984), Master’s Degree in Gynecology, Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (1992) and PhD in Sciences (Gynecology) from the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (1997). Postdoctorate at the Laboratory of Enzyme and Metabolism Control – LabECoM, CCS – UFRJ, in 2008, Executive MBA in Health at IBMEC (2001).

Specialist in Mastology, Gynecology and Obstetrics.. Former Member of the Executive Committee of the International Society of Senology and the Board of Directors of the America Society for Breast Diseases. Former President of the Latin American Federation of Mastology and current President of the Senologic International Society (SIS). (2019-2021) .Member of Board of Directors of International Gynecologic Cancer Society (2016-2020).
